Triathlon helps Duchovny in Californication

MOVING STATEMENT: Being a triathlete definitely stands David Duchovny in good stead when it comes to parts that call for him to take off his shirt — like his Showtime "Californication," in which his Hank Moody character has a bent toward casual sex. For the show, now between seasons, "I kind of felt I should be presentable," he admits. "I'm in my 40s, I can't sit on my a—. But I enjoy it," he says of running, swimming, biking and other sports. "I don't dread being physical. It's one of the main loves of my life." The star finds running "a combination of the spiritual and the physical." And, he says, he knew he'd made it when "I got free sneakers."
