Malibu Fires Send Acting Couple East
Native New Yorkers Téa Leoni and David Duchovny are fleeing the California wildfires to come home. Leoni is in New York to shoot Ghost Town, and after that, “I hope to just go home and repack and come back,” she said at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball on November 27. She and David and their two kids have had enough of Malibu. “It’s a little bit like living on the moon right now,” she said. “I just told David, ‘We’ve been wanting to get back for nineteen years. This is a great straw to break the camel’s back. I’m ready.’ ” The couple made the decision in October, and they already have a bid in on an apartment. But Leoni wouldn’t say where the potential new home is. “David doesn’t even know I have a bid out,” she said. Uptown would be a good guess, though, as Leoni said she wants to consider Brearley—her alma mater, on East 83rd—and Collegiate—David’s alma mater, on West 78th—for the kids. “I’ve said before that my children are starting to get that sort of sunburned sleepy look,” she said, “so I think it’s time to get them back to New York.”
